Christmas Care Package

Mr.Boyfriend is still having trouble figuring out what I want for Christmas. He thinks I'm joking when I tell him that all he needs to do is check on the blog (aka here). For goodness sake, I have a whole "Wish List" tag here! So, DEAR, if you have actually decided to check why I keep on saying that you need to look at the blog to see what I want, please - read ahead.
While browsing around today, my first completely free day in about 3 weeks, I came across some really sweet little things, bits and bobs, that will make a perfect Christmas gift for someone like me. That is someone who loves meeting people, going out, being in the center of the events, but in the end of the day their home is their fortress and they cherish their comfort and cosiness above all. Just spend a day with me at home and you'll know exactly how much I love my comfort and cosiness and how I'm willing to give up everything for a nice relaxing day. So yes, care and comfort package is on top of my wish list right now. After having such a busy, hectic, crazy few weeks, I just want to be able to stay in bed the whole morning and feel good while doing it!

Dazzling, Shining Wrist Candy

Although my Birthday gift from Mr.Boyfriend had nothing to do with any of the things on my Wish List, I am going to be stubborn and continue to expand my list with amazing little gifts, any of which will make me extremely happy. Like you know "Oh! That's exactly what I wanted! I love it! Thank you!" kind of happy. And, if Mr.Boyfriend, is the good smart boy I believe him to be, he'll definitely take a look over here before hitting the shops on the quest of finding my dream gift. Oh well, we'll see.
So, we are talking about jewelry, again. As I think it had become clear, I love jewelry, I love shiny little things that make you feel pretty. And I love them especially much when they convey some sort of a deeper meaning, unspoken understanding between the one who gives them and the one who receives them. And while looking for something else today, I came across these two beauties. I honestly cannot decide which one I like better, they both look so delicate and beautiful. They are just the very depiction of the two sides of my style - either very feminine, shine-bound and subtly glamorous, or very clean, prime, empowered and sharp. I really don't know which one I like better, I want them both! But will be very happy to get either.

Shake It Off!

Andrew James Cocktail Set
Yes, I know. The song. Taylor Swift's. Yes. But actually no. It's not about it. It's about something completely different and not connected with the pop-extravaganza this song/video is. It's a more of a grown-up thing. It's about alcohol. Well, mixing alcohols and making magic. It's about Cocktails!
Everyone love a good cocktail. Some prefer sweet and over-the-top cocktails, with cherry and tiny umbrella on the side, others prefer strong and demure combinations, that usually are served in low tumblers, but in the end of the day we all love a good cocktail.
And I have become especially keen on them now that part of my job is to prepare them. Well, keen is not the right word for it. I've become obsessed. I've been looking at liquors and alcohols since lunch time and I feel tipsy by just looking at them. And then, all of the sudden, I found a cocktail making kit, everything I want to have at home, for my personal use. Even a proper nice shaker, which is, oddly enough, hard to find. I don't know about you, but I'm spending some serious money on alcohol this Christmas. Never mind that I will be working all of the days and probably won't be able to enjoy it.

The More The Better

Especially when we talk about books! Because, let's face it, there is no such thing as reading too many books, I can promise you that. I mean, is it possible to put a full-stop to the universe, because if you ask me - books are the universe.
So, few weeks ago, while on a hunt for a cheaper used version for one of my expensive text books, I ended up on Amazon Books and feeling so genuinely miserable because there were so many books that I wanted to buy straight away and read, read, read, until my eyes hurt but I don't have the time and the money to do that right now. Then I remembered - holiday season is coming and maybe, if I'm lucky, someone will think of me and my love for books and will help me acquire at least one of the books on my list. I was a fairly good girl this year, I probably have deserved it, right?

All That Glitters

I have admitted it already, and I'll do it again - I'm a jewelry type of girl. I'm always looking for a sparkly new piece, to add up to my forever expanding collection. I wear it all - rings, necklaces, earnings, bracelets, anklets, you name it and I probably wear it. Every day. My jewelry is my armor, and most, if not all, of my adornments have a special meaning for me. I wear them not only because they are pretty but because this way I wear something that connects me with my beloved ones no matter where in the world I am.
The holiday season is around the corner, and on top of that, my birthday is just few days away, so I'm starting to look at pretty things and think how much I would love to have them and wear them. You know that giggly feeling when you look at something that is more or less too expensive for you but it's so pretty that you think to yourself "It's the pretties thing I have ever seen, I would wear it every day!". Well, I get this feeling ever so often when my birthday is around the corner. Like, basically, every little expensive piece of jewelry I lay my eyes on. Because I'm that kind of girl. I love sparkle and frills, pearls and real leather.
It wouldn't be me if I hadn't spent ridiculous amounts of time looking expensive jewelry on the Internet. Cartier, Tiffany&Co., Bulgari, you name it and I probably have spent hours and hours browsing their websites and trying to decide what I like best. So today, I decided to share a thing or two that I have fallen inlove with lately. Oh, well, just two. But they are SO pretty! I promise I was a good girl and I deserve them. And I will never take them off, they are that perfect! Just look at them and tell me I'm wrong!

Dreaming France

If there has to be just one thing that determines my personality that would've been travelling. I love through, because and for travelling, this is the very core of my existence. And if it wasn't for my idea of higher purpose of my life than having fun, I would've lived like a nomad - out of a backpack, on two wheels, always moving, never settling.
However, society has already imprinted my consciousness with the ideas of purposeful life, work, career, family, settlement, responsibility and comfortism. As much I would like to claim otherwise, I'm not adapt to roaming purposelessly at this point of my life. All I can do is take trips, visit places and try to satisfy my wanderlust with the crumbs of what could've been a great adventure. And true to my real nature, the moment I have one adventure lined up in the near future, I start planing another one. If not for else then for the hope that this gives me and the incentive to work as hard as I can now and to rest as much as I want later.
So, the Barcelona trip is all lined up, the plain tickets are bought, the hotel is payed for, I have the addresses of few nice restaurants and bars, I have ideas for things to do and places to visit, I even have a short list of the clothes I consider packing with me. All left to be done is exchange currency and actually go. So, all the fun in preparing for somewhere is done. That means just one thing - it's time to start working on convincing Mr.Boyfriend we need another short vacation. France this time.
Here's what I have in mind - short trip to France in late April, early May, using one way tickets only. My current plan involves a  train from London to Paris, spending 2-3 days in Paris then catching the train from Paris to Nice, spending 3-4 more days there and then catching the plain from Nice to London Gatwick Airport. This way we can explore Paris in the Spring, roam around it's wonderful streets for a bit and then enjoying the Coast D'Azur for another few days, maybe taking a short trip North-East to Monaco or South-West to Cannes and Antibes. I have a good friend living in Nice, so that makes things a bit easier. And, if I have to be honest, Nice have always been one of my most favourite cities in Europe, definitely in my personal Top 3, combining the French chic and elegance with the Mediterranean bohemian spirit and eclectic artistism. It's a beautiful, beautiful city, that's all I can say.
The best part is that if we act on early enough - all travel expenses will be easily covered by 100 GBP, per person. That's a sweet deal, if you ask me.

All Things Pretty

I love jewelry and almost always wear a piece or two or few. Or maybe a bit more than a few.
My ears, wrists and neck have seen more styles and fashion statements that I care to admit. Just to name few, in my mid-teen years I'll wear mainly black leather and spikes, the more outrageous the better. I remember clearly having a ring made of snake skin that I used to wear on my pinkie finger, as well as a dog-collar spiked necklace. Ah, the good old days when I looked ridiculous and I loved it. Or maybe the glorious period before that, when I'll don strictly green. I'll resemble a human frog, my green obsession was so uniformal.
Nowadays my jewelry obsession is stronger than ever. I'm constantly looking for a new piece to add to my collection. Nowadays I cherish quality and classic look more than trends and current affiliation. I try to invest in pieces that I'll be able to wear 5 or 10 or even 20 years from now, pieces that are symbol of good taste and knowledge. That's why I love my Elsa Peretti for Tiffany&Co. Open Heart pendant. Or my Morellato time-piece. And that's exactly why I have fallen in love with the Monica Vinader GP Fiji Chain Bracelet, because it's classic and timeless, yet interesting and inspiring. I should probably put it on my Birthday Wish List, I might get lucky and receive it as a gift, who knows...

Autumn Ready

I start every season with a list of things I want to buy. I know, very mercantile but this helps me a lot not dig deep into useless purchases. Like that one violet sweater with sequined cupcake that I bought because I saw it and I was like "Aww, that's so cute!".
Then, there are the things I'm always looking for. Like a new scarf. Or a good lipstick or nail polish. Or maybe just one more hat, because they are never enough. Or a good quality plain top, black or white, that I literally wear with everything. That kind of things.
Sometimes particular items on my list are staying there season after season because I'm still struggling to find that one item that I really really want. Like REALLY!

Dungarees and Comfy Shoes

I've been obsessing over dungarees since last Summer. I simply love how effortless and cool they look in a sweet, tom-boyish way. And they are so easy to wear - all you need is your favorite shirt and a pair of shoes! You can dress them up or down, and the right model can do miracles. So here are some of the models offered by Asos. Unfortunately, not all of them are available in my size and some of them are way too expensive for my budget but otherwise - they are perfection.
And what about those flats? Living in England and cycling everywhere have thought me that comfort and efficiency are number one priorities. And who said that not wearing heels means wearing boring shoes? Just look at those babes, they are perfection in an everyday format. I'm in love with  them, all of them. Maybe I'll choose my favorite pair and I'll celebrate the first days of spring buying them.
