Lost Girl

Plot:

Meet Bo. She's succubus, who finds out she is a succubus around the age of 30 (pure guessing here). She also finds that this makes her fae - part of a secret world of all kinds of (magical and mythical) creatures living among humans. The fae world is divided to light and dark, as usually, and all fae ought to take a side. Oh, and humans are just food for the fae. She refuses to align herself and decides she prefers to protect the humans and to stay away from the implications of choosing a side, she is the unaligned succubus. Well, that don't go that easy because if you don't have side you're not forced to follow the rules and therefore now both sides want to kill you so that your not a problem anymore. However, she manages to make a friendship or two so that she has some inside on the world of fae. Those include Dyson, a light  wolf-shapeshifter working as a police detective; Trick, light fae and owner of the only fae bar in town; and Hale, a light siren that is the detective partner of Dyson. Oh, and Kenzi - the human that Bo saves in the first minutes of the first episode and later this episode she "claimes" so that she protects her from the fae. Kenzi is street-smart and the comic-relief of the show, Bo's save haven and the end of the day. And her best friend.

Why I Like It:

What's not to like?! Hello, wide world of supernatural creatures! Hello, leading female bisexual character! Hello, snappy jokes about sex and boobies!
In all fairness, the show is not genius and the plot itself is not ... very elaborate. But it's fun to watch if you're into myths and fairy creatures. The Kenzi character is also incredibly funny and I'm always looking forward what she'll say/do next. I particularly like the abundance of gay characters, their sexuality is embedded so good into their personalities that makes it really nice to watch.
Oh, and by the way, the show is incredibly sexual, but I guess that should not come as a surprise since the main character is a succubus after all!

You can't get lost if you don't know where you're going...
